Magdeburg – The Magdeburg 5×3 kilometer relay race is one of the largest running events in Saxony-Anhalt. The company relay race was held for the 16th time on June 27, 2024. It is a regional sporting highlight with around 400 participating companies, which compete in around 1,000 teams of 5 runners each. Of course, our sporty colleagues from TKS Telekommunikationsbau Services GmbH in Dretzel and Magdeburg also showed their colors.

True to the motto “if you can climb a 40-metre-high telecommunications mast (see here), you can also manage the 15-kilometre course without any problems”, our enduring runners went through a veritable bath of changing weather conditions:

From sunshine and heat to multiple cool-downs due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, everything was there to toughen up an athlete. Our weather-resistant colleagues not only showed their fighting spirit, but also achieved very good running times:

• Team 877: time 1:20.59 hour, 169th place
• Team 878: time 1:21:07 hour, place 218

Above all, the company run was great fun for everyone involved. The running course led through the Elbauenpark Magdeburg, past the millennium tower and the Pappelsee. We would like to congratulate all participants on this success and are already looking forward to the next company run. Our runners from the WIEGEL administration will be taking part in the well-known B2Run in Nuremberg on July 25, 2024.
