The WIEGEL Group’s first fully electric truck enters service

The 449 hp tractor unit operates with zero local emissions and also stands out for its low noise levels. After completing its daily routes, the vehicle is recharged at the company’s on-site charging station and is ready for service again the following morning.

A key element on the road to climate neutrality

For Matthias Götz, Managing Director for Technology at the WIEGEL Group, the electric truck marks an important milestone: “The electrification of our truck fleet is a key element on the road to climate neutrality for the WIEGEL Group.”

Thomas Hauerwaas, Sustainability Manager at the WIEGEL Group, also explains the significance of the project:“With our first electric truck, we are taking the first step towards the sustainable decarbonization of our logistics chain. We will continue to pursue this path consistently.”

Positive experiences in daily operation

Driver Thomas Fichtlscherer experiences first-hand on his daily routes how well the vehicle performs in everyday operations: “Anyone who has ever driven an electric vehicle is amazed at how well it works in the truck sector.”

The positive experience gained in real-world operation confirms that electric powertrains are increasingly becoming a cost-effective and high-performance alternative, even in heavy-duty transport.
