Specialist article on the new WIEGEL wet coating centre published
A specialist article about the new WIEGEL wet coating centre has been published on metallbau-magazin.de. The plant, which will be operational from 2027, is conveniently located at the A6/A7 motorway junction near Feuchtwangen.
The article highlights how hot-dip galvanizing and wet coating will be combined in Feuchtwangen within an integrated process chain. This allows components to be hot-dip galvanized first and then processed further and wet-coated directly afterwards.
For steel construction projects with high requirements in terms of corrosion protection, surface quality and scheduling reliability, this results in several advantages: a central point of contact for galvanizing and coating, reduced transport and logistics costs, as well as coordinated process steps from pretreatment through to quality control.
The wet coating centre expands the existing corrosion protection options at the Feuchtwangen site and offers additional flexibility for individual coating systems according to technical specifications. Thermal spray galvanizing can also be used on a project-specific basis.
