Securing the competitiveness of companies of systemic importance – State Secretary Dr. Jürgen Ude visits WIEGEL Parey

Redekin WIEGEL Parey is one of the largest employers in northern Saxony-Anhalt. With around 150 employees, the company, as a manufacturer of electricity pylons, makes an important contribution to Germany’s energy supply and security of supply.

At the end of June, Dr. Jürgen Ude, State Secretary for Structural Change and Major Investments of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, together with Cathleen Lüdicke, Mayor of the unified municipality of Jerichow, visited the Redekin site to learn more about the capabilities of WIEGEL Parey as a provider of critical infrastructure.

Fair competitive conditions

The exchange focused on the company’s international competitiveness, the framework conditions for Germany as an industrial location, and current procurement practices in infrastructure projects. It became clear that reliable economic framework conditions, competitive energy prices, and fair competitive conditions are key prerequisites for medium-sized industrial companies to secure investment, jobs, and industrial value creation in Germany over the long term.

The importance of WIEGEL Parey for the region was also highlighted during the visit. As a major employer and industrial location factor, the company plays a special role in the unified municipality of Jerichow and beyond. The plant visit made it clear that politics, local government, and business share a common goal: strengthening the competitiveness of domestic industry and sustainably securing Germany as a business and industrial location.
