Nittenau – On May 2, 2025, Tobias Gotthardt, State Secretary at the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, visited the WIEGEL Group’s Nittenau plant.
In discussions with the Supervisory Board and the management of the WIEGEL Group, current challenges and opportunities for medium-sized businesses and the industry took center stage – ranging from corrosion protection and lattice steel mast construction to energy price stability, securing skilled labor, and international competitiveness.
Dr. Oliver Nitzsche, Managing Director of the WIEGEL Group, emphasized the importance of political support: “We are very pleased that the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs has acknowledged the systemically relevant role of the WIEGEL Group’s services in corrosion protection and lattice steel mast construction through today’s visit. This sends a clear signal in support of the future viability of industry and medium-sized enterprises in Bavaria.”
Harald Füchtenbusch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, highlighted the successful integration of the Helgert galvanizing plant into the WIEGEL Group in 2024: “As the WIEGEL Group, we are very proud that the Helgert family placed their trust in us to continue their business. Thanks to our local employees, we were able to integrate the Nittenau site into the WIEGEL Group on very short notice. The galvanizing plant will continue to operate on the market under the name Helgert. The Helgert name stands for reliability and quality.”
Plant Manager Sebastian Fink informed the State Secretary about the galvanizing process at the Nittenau site during a guided tour of the facility.
