A glimpse into the world of hot-dip galvanizing: WIEGEL presents stunning footage taken directly above a 450°C hot zinc bath

Nuremberg – Hot-dip galvanizing is more than just a technical process – it is a science, a craft, and an important contribution to sustainable corrosion protection that can last up to 100 years. In the new film, produced at the WIEGEL plant in Denkendorf, the WIEGEL hot-dip galvanizing process according to DIN EN ISO 1461 is vividly documented.

For the first time, high-resolution film footage was captured directly above the 450°C hot zinc bath – a major challenge for the camera equipment, which had to be protected from the intense heat. The successful footage offers spectacular insights into an exciting world, allowing viewers to observe the physical reactions during the hot-dip galvanizing process up close. The four-minute film takes the viewer step by step through the eight phases of the process and shows how quality, precision, and environmental awareness go hand in hand at WIEGEL.

Innovative technology meets sustainability

The film footage not only highlights the precision with which WIEGEL works, but also the environmental consciousness that is integrated into every step of the process. From the fully enclosed pretreatment, to the enclosed galvanizing furnace, to the lead-free molten zinc and multi-stage heat recovery – WIEGEL sets standards as the only EMAS-validated provider in Germany when it comes to using environmentally friendly processes, and is also a global pioneer in environmental protection in the industry. Special thanks go to plant manager Stephan Schäfer, Uwe Rockstroh, Luis Schäfer, and the entire WIEGEL team in Denkendorf for their outstanding support in the realization of the film production.

Experience how cutting-edge technology and decades of experience at WIEGEL lead to corrosion protection that is second to none.
