Flying high: where the steel giants stand

Schwandorf/Upper Palatinate – Finn Schäfer and Christian Blank from WIEGEL Marketing recently made their way to the region near Schwandorf in the Upper Palatinate, a good hour’s drive from our WIEGEL headquarters in Nuremberg – and set the scene for some real heavyweights.

The models for this special shoot: WIEGEL Parey electricity lattice pylons weighing up to 79 tons and up to 65 meters high, which are part of the “Ostbayernring” power line of grid operator TenneT.

In sunny late summer weather, our team took high-resolution photos in the beautiful Upper Palatinate landscape – both classic photos and film footage from a height of up to 120 meters. The impressive size and load-bearing capacity of our durable masts are shown to their best advantage.

The footage produced will be used in upcoming films, which will soon follow as part of our pilot project with TenneT on the construction of power grid pylons made from CO2-reduced steel.
