New WIEGEL Corporate Headquarters: Sustainable Timber Construction Underway
Nürnberg – Construction of WIEGEL's new corporate headquarters in the Wetzendorf district of Nuremberg is steadily taking shape. Building work is progressing according to schedule. The start of timber construction marks another important milestone in the project.
On 12 October 2026, Jana Lang and Julian Hofmann, members of the Supervisory Board and shareholders of the WIEGEL Group, visited the construction site to see the latest progress for themselves. Together with project manager Florian Richter, they reviewed the current status of the work and discussed the next steps.
First Sections of the Building Already in Place
Significant progress is now clearly visible on site. The first walls of the new building have already been erected, while the lift shaft and stairwell core continue to rise. Overall, almost a quarter of the new administrative building’s structure is now in place. At the same time, foundation work is underway for the future laboratory area.
Focus on Sustainable and Energy-Efficient Construction
WIEGEL places particular emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency in the planning and construction of its new headquarters. Timber construction is a key element of the building concept. Combined with a highly insulated building envelope and planned photovoltaic systems, this approach is designed to reduce energy consumption in the long term. Through this concept, WIEGEL aims to create a modern, energy-efficient corporate headquarters that will also meet future requirements.
Move Scheduled for the End of 2027
Several further construction phases remain before completion. The move into the new corporate headquarters is scheduled for the end of 2027. Based on the progress made so far, the project remains on schedule.
