Velké Meziříčí – On March 18, 2025, a themed emergency drill was conducted at the WIEGEL facility in Velké Meziříčí by the Fire and Rescue Service (HZS). The scenario focused on a “Fire in the chemical pre-treatment area and malfunction of the gas scrubber system.” Approximately five fire brigade units took part in the exercise.

The entrance area to the site was closed off, and all employees were evacuated to the designated assembly point on the adjacent field, from where they were able to observe the drill.

The focus of the exercise was a simulated fire in the chemical pre-treatment area and the release of chemical substances into the air. In accordance with the emergency plan, neighboring companies were informed in advance, and the affected area was secured.

The entire operation lasted around 50 minutes and was received very positively. After the drill was completed, the participants were invited to enjoy a small snack.
