Around 200 tonnes of steel hot-dip galvanized for long-lasting corrosion protection of silos

Plankstadt For a current plant engineering project, around 200 tonnes of steel were hot-dip galvanized at the WIEGEL plant in Plankstadt. The galvanized components are being used in the construction of several silos and provide long-lasting protection against corrosion.

During hot-dip galvanizing, a durable zinc coating is formed that reliably protects the steel from weather-related influences. The process also reaches edges, cavities and areas that are difficult to access, making a decisive contribution to the longevity of the steel structures. Once the hot-dip galvanizing process had been completed, the components were delivered to the construction site, where the installation of the silos is now well advanced.

Positive feedback from the customer

The plant engineering company has also drawn a positive interim conclusion. Sven Kübler, Managing Director of the company, particularly emphasizes the reliable adherence to deadlines, the effective coordination throughout the project and the high quality of the hot-dip galvanizing. The project is an excellent example of how hot-dip galvanizing makes an important contribution to the long-term preservation of steel structures in plant engineering.
