Redekin – Recently, a youth team from SV Lok Jerichow had the opportunity to visit WIEGEL Parey Gittermastbau in Redekin. This factory tour offered a valuable chance to give the young athletes an insight into the world of steel processing and the production of lattice towers.
The goal was not only to showcase our company’s technical expertise and innovative processes, but also to raise awareness of environmental protection and social responsibility. Experiences like these can help young visitors broaden their professional and personal horizons, and perhaps even spark their interest in technical careers. After a warm welcome, the day began with an informative company presentation given by our apprentice Aaron.
This was followed by a tour through our production halls in Redekin, which concluded with an exciting test ride on one of our crane systems. During this special experience, the young visitors were able to explore freely within a designated safety area, under the attentive supervision of our colleague Ricardo Schenk.
WIEGEL Cup
A few weeks later, the annual WIEGEL Cup took place for the third year in a row, in cooperation with SV Lok Jerichow. A total of 44 youth teams competed for top placements across six tournaments in different age categories.
The highlight of the weekend was the men’s tournament, which kicked off on Saturday evening. The opening match was played between SV Lok Jerichow and our team WIEGEL&Friends. Several colleagues and friends teamed up to take on this sporting challenge. The outcome remained exciting right up to the final game. The decisive match for first place was between MSV Börde and WIEGEL&Friends. Unfortunately, our team had to admit defeat and finished in third place, while MSV Börde took the victory.
At this point, we would like to sincerely thank everyone involved for their support and commitment! It was an eventful weekend, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event.
