What does WIEGEL manufacture in lattice tower construction?

Customized steel lattice towers for power supply, wind energy and infrastructure. Steel lattice towers for voltage levels 380 kV, 110 kV and 20 kV, substations, tower refurbishment and radio/telecom towers.

Where is production located?

Manufacturing takes place in Germany at the Redekin site; the logistics center is located in Parey. Additional logistics areas within the corporate group in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia are available on request.

Which qualifications/certifications are in place?

Manufacturer qualification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3834-2; DIN EN 1090-2 up to EXC4 for structural steels S235, S275, S355, S460, both non-alloy and low-alloy, including thermomechanically rolled or quenched and tempered high-strength structural steels with increased requirements for toughness and weldability; as well as certified management systems for quality ISO 9001, environment EMAS and ISO 14001, and occupational health and safety ISO 45001. In addition, an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) for our products will be available soon. Please contact us regarding this.

How does WIEGEL ensure consistent quality?

Through suitable technical equipment, qualified and certified employees, certified external service providers and an organizational structure aligned with this via factory production control in accordance with EN 1090-1:2009 + A1:2011. In addition, we maintain our own structured quality assurance concept that clearly defines test procedures, responsibilities and documentation processes and is consistently implemented in daily practice. We also conduct regular audits of our suppliers to continuously verify material quality, process reliability and compliance with our standards.

Which tower examples are available?

WIEGEL presents, among other references, steel lattice transmission towers in various heights/classes; individual designs are implemented on a project basis.

Can corrosion protection be planned as an integrated solution (galvanizing/coating)?

Yes. Within the group, hot-dip galvanizing and coating can be planned and executed as integrated services. In addition, long-standing business relationships with regional galvanizers and coaters are maintained.

Which sectors benefit most?

Power transmission, renewable energy, as well as public/industrial infrastructure and telecommunications.

Is there a central point of contact?

Is cooperation with telecommunications construction integrated?

Yes. If required, TKS draws on the manufacturing expertise of the WIEGEL subsidiary WIEGEL Parey, enabling integrated solutions.

Which manufacturing processes are used in production?

Raw materials are separated and processed by sawing, drilling, punching, plasma cutting and oxy-fuel cutting. Long products with a total length of up to 14 m can be sawn, and plates up to a maximum size of 2.5 x 6 m can be cut. Drilling is possible in three axes. Joining processes include MAG welding and submerged arc welding using a parallel-wire twin-head system for components up to a length of approx. 14 m.
