Rooftop terrace project with steel structure – from concept to completion
Nuremberg – As part of a construction project, a steel structure for a rooftop terrace was implemented, presenting special requirements for planning and execution. The starting point was the question of whether a rooftop terrace could be realized on an existing older building.
The solution involved lifting the prefabricated steel structure over the existing building using a mobile crane. The fabrication of the structure was carried out by Kraus from Neumarkt. For long-term corrosion protection, the steel was hot-dip galvanized at the WIEGEL site in Denkendorf. The project exemplifies how early coordination between the client, the steel fabricator, and the galvanizing company can result in a technically and structurally well-suited solution. WIEGEL was involved as a partner throughout the entire process – from the initial concept to the realization of the steel structure.
